APC Coordinator lauds President Buhari over housing, road projects in Nasarawa

Dr. Tom Ohikere, National Coordinator of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Broom Platform, has commended the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration over the various projects executed in Nasarawa State.

Ohikere, who led the platform on a media tour of the state on Tuesday, said the various projects being executed by the APC-led government are of direct bearing on the lives and well being of Nigerians.

He explained that the media tour was to ascertain existence of such projects, their level of completion as well as impact on the lives of the people.

Ohikere noted that the power, housing and road projects being executed by the government in the state would change the fortunes of the people.

He also commended Gov. Umaru Al-Makura for his administration’s giant strides in infrastructure development, especially the road network in Lafia.

The team, which was conducted round by Mr. Abubakar Ango, Senior Special Assistant on Power to Gov. Al-Makura, visited the various Federal and State projects in the state.

At the ongoing construction of the 330/132/33KV power substation in Lafia under the Federal Government’s National Integrated Power Project (NIPP), Ango said the project, which began in 2017, had reached 45 per cent completion.

He said the project, scheduled to be completed within the next five months, would address the problem of inadequate power supply in Lafia and environs, thereby boosting the economy of the area.

Ango explained that the substation to be fed from the Azura power station in Edo through Makurdi would also serve as a back-up to Abuja and environs when completed.

The team also visited the federal housing project at Akurba, near Lafia; 100 unit housing estate by the Federal Mortgage Bank at Kwandere; as well as the new Police Command and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence (NSCDC) headquarters built by the Al-Makura administration.
