In this era where iconic buildings are utilised by visionary real estate investors to make bold architectural statements across skylines of global city hubs, one of such head-turners, Civic Centre Tower (CCT), has officially opened for business what it described as Nigeria’s first intelligent structure on the ever busy Ozumba Mbadiwe Way in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Promoted by one of Africa’s visionary entrepreneurs, Mr. Jim Ovia, whose knack for fishing out opportunities is manifest in his several investment portfolios ranging from the capital market, banking and finance, real estate, oil and gas, marine, and hospitality and tourism, the Civic Centre Tower stands out majestically in a class of its own as a hotshot commercial destination.

It also boasts of a central elevator core with 4 elevators and large bays, which provide for maximum flexibility in developing highly efficient floor plans.

The CCT which can also be dubbed an “intelligent building” designed with the digital age in mind, is information technology-enabled. Its information technology enabled features include: a central communication tower – VSAT & broadband enabled, provision for all tenants plug-ins, IT core/infrastructure convergence, 16-storey all-round wired guaranteed IT services, provision of dedication space for individual tenant’s IT equipment and raised floors.

Designed to first class office standards including 9-foot high ceilings, floor-to-floor exterior glazing and state of the art building systems, the building offers spectacular panoramic views of the scenic Five Cowrie Creek from all floors. In addition, even the lowest office floor offers unobstructed views of the creek and a parking lot, which is secured on a three-level parking facility.

Engineered and constructed by Nigeria’s best engineering and construction firms, the building sits on a primespace measuring 6,070.99 square metres. With a foundation deeply rooted on 45 metres beneath the bed of coastal rock, it is purposely built to last for over 100 years.

In terms of accessibility, it is located where tenants have no need to bother about the inconvenience of the perennial traffic snarl in Lagos. CCT provides unique opportunity of alternatives to normal road transportation. Its location presents ample options of air shuttle, taking advantage of a helipad next door or the waterways, utilising the jetty, which is also located next door on each of the two sides of the building.
