Gwagwalada women to benefit from NGO’s 500 housing units

A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Women Housing Plan Initiative (WHPI), is to construct 500 housing units which women are expected to benefit from in its new housing scheme project at Machada, near Zuba, in Gwagwalada Area Council.

Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, the President of WHPI, Hajiya Binta Ibrahim, said the initiative was aimed at empowering women and families to enable them own houses through easy terms of financing.

Hajiya Ibrahim said the project was also aimed at supporting the Federal Government towards housing for all by 2020, which she said was in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Minster of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, represented by Mrs. Eucharia Alozie, noted that government was ready to support the organisation and its stakeholders in the housing sector that was prepared to complement its effort in providing housing for Nigerians and assured federal support towards the success of the housing project.
