Man kills elder brother over ancestral property dispute

A 38-year-old man hacked his elder brother to death at his house in Banaswadi on Wednesday morning before fleeing from the spot.

The deceased has been identified as Manjunath (40). He was also a resident in the same area. His brother Madhu (38) is presently at large.

Recently the family sold an ancestral property and disputes arose when Manjunath was not satisfied with the share of the money he was given. Police sources said that Manjunath abused his mother with filthy language for allegedly deceiving him.

This enraged his younger brother Madhu, who in a fit of rage hacked his elder brother with a machette in the house, before he fled from the scene.

The deceased was a real-estate businessman.
