The Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Secondary Education Board (SEB), Alhaji Musa Yahaya Muhammad, has said enough provision has been made in the 2018 budget of the board to address the challenge of infrastructure in schools.
Alhaji Muhammad, who stated this during an interview with our reporter yesterday in Abuja, said there were challenges in laboratories, hostels, classrooms, fencing and landscaping which had all been captured in the budget.
Muhammad said contractors handling some of the projects across various secondary schools were mobilised back to site after approval of the budget by the FCT Minister, Muhammad Musa Bello.
He said, “There are some projects that have been completed which are on the verge being handed to us through the effort of the FCT minister who gave approval to mobilise some of the contractors back to site.”
The chairman also said the board had identified shortage of security personnel in some secondary and assured that the minister had also given approval to recruit more security men, adding that substantive cooks in boarding schools had also been engaged.
