The Managing Director (MD) of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) Mortgage bank, Hayadeen Atiku Auwal, over the weekend handed over keys to 35 eligible contributors who have fulfilled all the basic requirements to access the National Housing Fund (NHF) facility in Gombe, the Gombe state capital.
While handing over the keys to the cheerful beneficiaries, Atiku said the scheme was initiated in line with the directive of the minister, federal ministry of power, works and housing, Babatunde Fashola, to promote formal house ownership to federal civil servants.
He said the houses which comprised of 3 bedroom fully detached bungalows and 2 bedroom semi-detached bungalows were constructed by FHA, under a joint synergy with the FHA mortgage bank.
Atiku further disclosed that the development is being done at the cost of 10.3 million Naira and 8.7 million Naira for the three and two bedroom bungalows respectively.
He, however, noted that the Managing Director of FHA, Prof. Alhassan Al- Amin has granted 15 % waiver to the beneficiaries. He disclosed that FHA through its mortgage institution is on track to issue mortgages to all those interested, including those in the private sector as long as they are qualified and are willing to make contributions of 2.5% of their monthly income.
