Gov Ikpeazu begins construction of 10km rural roads in 17 LGAs

Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has officially flagged off the construction of 170 km of rural roads across the 17 Local Government Areas of the state, under the rural road programme of the government.

According to New Telegraph, Ikpeazu hinted this at the flag off ceremony and commissioning of the 4.7km Owerrinta- Egbelu Mbutu road in Isiala Ngwa South council area, saying that no local government would be left out.

The Governor announced that each local government area in the state will get 10km of roads under the programme.

He also said that the roads will interconnect each other and make for easier movement and evacuation of farm produce within the rural areas.

Ikpeazu said that he wants to be remembered not only by the number of roads he constructed but the quality of the roads as well.
