Mr Vincent Uduaghan, DELTA State Commissioner for Transport, has urged mobile road users to be patient and make use of alternative routes. This is due to the ongoing construction and rehabilitation works on some roads in the state.
According to Vanguard, Uduaghan who spoke with newsmen shortly after unscheduled inspection of the NPA bypass, Esisi and Swamp roads in Warri, said the Senator Ifeanyi Okowa- led government was determined to make life more meaningful for all Deltans.
The Commissioner who was accompanied by the site engineer, Mr Justin Nwoko, inspected the granites, rods, the quality and quantity of cement being used for the project. He also inspected works on the road. While expressing satisfaction with the pace and quality of work, he told the contractor to ensure speedy completion of the road to ease traffic flow in the area.
At Esisi road where he inspected rehabilitation of failed portions and drainage work, he urged the contractor to step up the tempo of the work. Querying the contractor handling the Swamp road for the poor drainage job, Uduaghan said the state government would not tolerate any shaddy job.
The site Engineer, Mr Hyacinth Ajeh, however, assured that the project would be completed to specification. Some leaders of the community hosting the project, commended the state governor for embarking on the projects and thanked the commissioner for his effort towards ensuring speedy completion of the works.
