ASABA— Old students of Nshagu College, Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area, Delta State, class of 1978, have decried the encroachment on the school’s land and vandalization of its structures by residents of the community.

Speaking during a courtesy call on the phone with the Principal and inspection tour of the school, Acting National Chairman of the 78’s old boys and girls, Mr Austin Ikenye, lamented on the dilapidated standard of infrastructure in the school.

Blaming the encroachment and vandalization of the school’s property on the lack of perimeter fencing, he directed the principal to write to the ministries of Lands and Survey, and education to get the survey plans of the school in order to look into the issue of fencing off the school property.

“We are here to listen to you, and see the things the way they are. We are not here to make promises. We are here to pray. We remember the hostels, we remember the tennis and handball courts. We remember the junior and senior football fields. We will inspect the school. There is no person whose house falls, who will be happy,” he said.

On her part, the Principal, Mrs Nemkpen Owoloja, thanked the old students for their concern, describing their visit as a prayer answered.
