Ex-NDDC director loses property worth N1.8bn to EFCC

A Federal High Court in Lagos orders the final forfeiture of properties linked to a former NDDC executive director

The properties are forfeited to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) – The report lists the affected properties and their locations This is not the best time for Tuoyo Omatsuli, a former executive director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) as a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has ordered the final forfeiture his N1.8 billion property.

The judgement came on Monday, December 10, as the court gave the order that the property would be forfeited to the federal government.

Channels Television reports that the EFCC listed the properties to include Block 117 Plot 4, Lekki Peninsula Scheme, Plots 1-18 Block 43 TPAO 992, Ikate Ancient City, Lekki. Plot 1B Northern Business District Lekki Peninsula, and Plot 1 Block 25 Lekki Peninsula Scheme Eti-Osa Local Government Area measuring 10,000Sqm. Others include Plot 1b, Northern Business District, Lekki Peninsula Scheme 1, measuring 1000Sqm and Plot 1, Block 25, Lekki Peninsula Residential Scheme 1, Eti-Osa L.G.A, measuring 2989.10Sqm.

Legit.ng earlier reported how a witness, Linan Okapu, on Monday, December 10, told an FCT High Court that the information minister, Lai Mohammed, on March 30, during a news conference, named Chief Raymond Dokpesi on the list of treasury looters. Dokpesi, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and chairman emeritus of DAAR Communications Plc, filed the suit on April 30, seeking N5 billion damages from Mohammed and the attorney general, Abubakar Malami (SAN).
