Construction of Ikotun/Ejigbo/Cele road to commence soon

Good news it may finally seem for residence of Ikotun/Ejigbo/Cele in Alimosho local government.

The Lagos State Public Works Corporation says construction will soon commence on the long stretch of road linking Ikotun-Ejigbo in Alimosho Local Government to Cele Express Bus Stop along the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway.

The PUNCH had two weeks ago published a story on the deplorable state of the road and others in the state.

The LSPWC said in a statement signed its Head of Public Relations, Mr. Yomi Oladapo, that the residents of Ikotun, Ejigbo, Oke Afa and Ago Palace Way would soon heave a sigh of relief with the commencement of rehabilitation work, which was the promise of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to give the road a face-lift during an unscheduled visit to the area a fortnight ago.

According to the statement, Ambode had declared that the deplorable state of the road was regretted and unacceptable, and had directed the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure and the LSPWC to immediately address the situation.
