APICAN urges real estate agents to operate in ‘Honesty and Goodwill’

In a bid to sanitize Real Estate agents practice in the country, association of property investment and commission agents in Nigeria (APICAN) Iju branch held a one day seminar on Real Estate Management Accounting System.

The seminar which was held at Baale Palace Saala Ifako Ijaiye Local Government had in attendance, APICAN national deputy chairman, Mr. Jide Odelola, National secretary, Mr. Festus Akinkombamije and Chairman from various branches of the association.

APICAN Iju chairman opened the seminar. He noted that the profession is one to be proud of and that he is elated to be part of the gathering.

Mr. Odelola who presented the seminar paper reiterated the aim of APICAN to change the image of Estate agent in the country. Noting that the seminar is one of the necessary steps to be taken in order to sanitize the profession.

“Knowing your profession well would help you stand the test of time. Let us inculcate the motto of this association to our day to day dealings. Operate in ’Honesty and Goodwill’, he said.

He admonished each member of the association to work in unison in order to grow together. He said “we have to come together as one to achieve any goal. Cooperation is very important.”

The key learning point of the seminar included: Rent collection, Relations with tenants and owners, Tenant relations, Owner relations, Account and records, Transcript, etc.

Members of the association, urged their executives to make more efforts in getting the government by their side.  Stating that such support will help achieve the aim of the association faster.
