Rainstorm destroys 100 houses in Daura

A rainstorm in Daura, Katsina State, on Sunday reportedly destroyed no fewer than 100 houses. Daura is President Muhammadu Buhari’s hometown.

Rahamawa, Kalgo, Lungun Kofar Baru, Sarkin Yara ‘A’ ward and Unguwar Kaura were among the areas seriously affected, our correspondent learnt.

It was reported that many of the houses had their roofs blown off by the rainstorm.

Sources said no life was lost.

Many people whose houses were destroyed could not salvage their belongings.

A pensioner, Ahidjo Lawan, said at least 50 houses were destroyed in Kalgo.
