The Edo State Private Property Protection Taskforce has handed over one Efosa Omoruyi of Evbuodia Community in Iyekogba area of Benin to the police.
The suspect was accused of land grabbing and destruction of property.
The taskforce vice chairman, Chief Osaro Idah, who spoke on the development, said Omoruyi was arrested for disobeying the extant laws that abolished the activities of Community Development Associations (CDAs) in the state.
He said they have issued the suspect several warnings, asking him to desist from the act but he refused, adding that they have handed him over to law enforcement agents, to arraign him in court.
He explained that Omoruyi with other members of his group has destroyed property belonging to several petitioners in the community.
“He has been hiding from security agents since January, until his arrest,” he added.
