Zulum cnstructs 400-housing estate in hometown

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has launched a 400 units housing project in Mafa local government area of the state. The Governor, shortly after day’s tour across some LGs, returned to his hometown of Mafa, where he laid the foundation for 400-housing units located at Ajiri.

He also flagged off the distribution of agricultural inputs to the IDPs in the town.

Zulum also inspected a reconstruction work at Dikwa Holiday Resort which he directed that it should be turned into a skill aqusition centre.

The governor, who was on familiarization tour of some local government areas, assessed farming activities in the area especially the distribution of inputs to farmers.

He similarly inspected road rehabilitation projects covering Mafa, Dikwa and Ngala local government areas.

He said the road project was important as it would boost commercial activities in the area and neighbouring countries of Cameroun, Niger and Chad.

“I am overwhelmed, I am so happy when I see the level of the ongoing work from Gajibo (Dikwa LG),” Governor Zulum said. He commended the effort of the Borno State Road Maintenance Agency and the Ministry of Works. “We shall ensure that this current shape of work is maintained so that after the rainy season asphalting will not be a problem,” he said and promised to complete all road rehabilitation works in two to three years.

Kanem Trust learnt that the governor is seeking the federal government’s approval to construct Maiduguri-Bama-Banki and Maiduguri-Gamboru-Ngala, which are two major federal roads.
