The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has donated a two-storey multi-million naira structure to the Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH).
New Telegraph reports that the building which is valued at N999 million, was handed over to the university by an official of the apex bank, Mr. Akanimo Etim, who represented the Central Bank Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele at the handing over ceremony.
Emefiele said the construction of the structure, which is one of its interventionist initiatives under the CBN Education Intervention Programme, began in 2012, but due to funding constraints and the fact that the design had to be redrawn to accommodate current realities, there was a delay in completion.
“The Central Bank of Nigeria embarked on this project since 2012 under its Education Intervention Programme, but a lot of adjustments had to be made on the design because of funding constraints and this affected the completion of the building as scheduled.
We hope the administrative building will provide a convenient accommodation for the benefit of the institution,” the CBN governor said.
