Al-Makura cautions officials against selling Govt. property

Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa state has cautioned officials of his government not to attempt selling government property in the state.

Al-Makura said in a statement in Abuja by his special assistant on media and publicity Ahmed Tukur that he would not condone such act and would deal decisively with any of his officials involved in fraudulent sales of government property in the state.

The governor also said he would direct security agencies to apprehend any government official that indulged in using government property for personal use without approval, saying those that buy any government property from individuals were at risk.

He said plans were underway to take inventory of government property under all ministries and agencies in the state with a view to creating a data bank for such.

While calling on relevant agencies in the state to be mindful of ongoing developments with regard to government property, Al-Makura said he would not fold his hands to see individuals taking undue advantage of government.
