Aregbesola blamed for poor roads in Osun

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ife-North Local Government Area of Osun State, Mr. Lekan Obisakin, has berated the state government headed by Rauf Aregbesola over alleged neglect of community roads in the state.

Addressing members of the PDP, who contributed a sum of N20m to grade a 49 kilometre road linking many towns in the council at Akinlalu town, Obisakin described the PDP in the state as a reliable party and promised that residents of the communities would enjoy the dividends of democracy if the party’s candidates are elected into power in 2015.

He said “We embarked on the grading of the roads in some towns of the local government to boost their economy and we are assuring you that the road will later be tarred when the party reclaims its mandate from the APC-led government in the state.”

The PDP chief promised that the PDP government would do all it could to alleviate the suffering of the people if elected in the state.

Obisakin disclosed that another 39 kilometre road would also be given attention after the conclusion of the first project.

In his remarks, another PDP leader in the council, Mr. Olaoba Efuntayo, stressed the need for the rehabilitation of more road projects in the community.

Efuntayo charged people in the council to vote for President Goodluck Jonathan and other PDP candidates in the oncoming elections.

He said, “Grading of the roads are essential to make life comfortable for the inhabitants of the towns and also to show that the PDP is a caring party with people-oriented programmes.”
