AUSTRALIA: New apple watch app lets you monitor property market

More than a month out from launch, the Apple Watch app game is starting to heat up in Australia.

Popular real estate website, Domain, is joining the stable of apps launching at the same time as Apple’s smartwatch, with an app that lets you monitor the market from your wrist. The Apple Watch is released worldwide on April 24.

For all those house hunters who have spent countless weekend mornings chasing the rental dream, attending record-breaking auctions or selling your prize possession, this app is designed to give you the tools to make it easier on the run. You can search and view property information and photos using your geolocation, as well as receive notifications regarding property inspection availability times.

As is standard with Apple Watch apps, the app works as a complement to your mobile and desktop apps, simplifying functions and bringing them to your wrist. Due to the Apple Watch not being available in Australia yet, Domain’s app has not been tested by Mashable.

This isn’t the first move into wearables for the company, with an Android smartwatch app released in August last year on the LG G Watch and the Samsung Gear Live.

The major competitor to Domain, Realestate.com.au, also confirmed to Mashable it will be joining the growing smartwatch app market with its own Apple Watch App release on April 24. It will alert users to homes for sale in the area, have GPS directions to properties for viewings and the ability to voice-record notes.

The Domain app joins a handful of Australian apps slated to be available on the Apple Watch when it debuts to consumers, including an app by the local supermarket giant Woolworths, small business app Invoice2Go and task marketplace app Airtasker. More local apps are expected to be ready for the launch.

International apps such as Instagram, Nike, TripAdvisor, aBay and Shazam will be available to download as soon as you have the device on your wrist.
