Developer Urges Govt. To Build More Training Institutes For Artisans

The Managing Director of Opinior Engineering Company Limited, Engr Muftau Salawu has pleaded with the federal government to build more training institutes across the country for the training of artisans.

Salawu who stated this while briefing newsmen in Abuja commended federal government’s decision to recruit unemployed graduates as teachers but said the gesture should also be extended to students that enrolled for vocational training.

He regretted that Nigerians placed much emphasis on certificates rather than skills stressing that Nigerians should be encouraged to acquire skills in addition to educational certificates.

Salawu added that his firm have concluded plans to launch a programme in collaboration with Federal Road Safety Corps ( FRSC ) tagged,’Don’t Use Phone While Driving’ as part of activities lined up to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Opinior Engineering tomorrow.

He noted that Nigerians who have distinguished themselves in their chosen career such as foremost community based Journalist with NTA, Hameed Amisurogu, the lady that picked N12 million in a toilet at Murtala Mohammed Airport Lagos and the former Commissioner of Police at Imo State who uncovered baby factory would also be honoured during the anniversary.

The MD called on the Minister of Power, Works and Housing Babatunde Raji Fashola to make housing accessible to Nigerians adding that emphasising on affordable housing would lead to building of substandard houses by quacks.

He further disclosed that Opinior was injecting a new concept into real estate development with the introduction of a 10- floor Opinior Luxury Apartment located at Sector Centre A, Ahmadu Bello Way, Abuja.

According to him, “We have three floors that are for commercials like office space and five floors of service apartments of two-bedroom, one-bedroom flats and studio houses.
