EFCC Discovers Diezani Alison Madueke’s $18m Mansion

The former minister of petroleum resources under the immediate past government, Diezani Alison-Madueke has been reported to be guilty of another offence .

This was made known by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The anti-graft agency said during its ongoing war against corruption, it discovered that the former petroleum minister is alleged to own an $18m mansion.

While explaining further, it was learnt that the mansion is located in Asokoro area of Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, and is valued at $18million with furnishings inside estimated to cost at least $2 million, as well as having a bulletproof gym.

The EFCC explained that it discovered $18m mansion, while granting a recent interview to Al-Jazeerah, with various jewelries and huge sums of money reportedly found from some of the corrupt government officials.
Ibrahim Magu, the EFCC boss, who spoke at the interview, disagreed with those who said the anti-corruption war is selective and politically motivated stating that: “No! Not my EFCC, not the EFCC of today. We are not politicised. If there is an allegation against anybody, we will go after them.”

It should be observed that the confiscated property is part of the $10.3b worth of properties and money recovered, which were stolen during the last administration.

Likewise, the EFCC, at least a week ago, found out that Port Harcourt’s Le Meridien Hotel was allegedly purchased by the same Diezani Alison-Madueke, using First Bank of Nigeria Executive Director (ED), Dauda Lawal.
