Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg sued by a Palo Alto real estate developer

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is facing allegations of fraud and misrepresentation from his neighbor in Palo Alto, California. Zuckerberg had reportedly promised his neighbor to buy a portion of his land, for protecting his privacy.

In November 2012, part-time real estate developer Mircea Voskerician signed an agreement for developing a property behind Zuuckerberg’s residence. However Zuckerberg promises Voskerician to buy a part of the property to resolve privacy concerns. The real estate developer was called to Facebook headquarters to resolve the matter. A lawsuit has been filed against Zuckerberg and agent Terri Kerwin for making false promises.

“Mark always keeps his promises,” said Kerwin during the negotiations. Voskerician had signed a $4.8 million contract to buy the land and had agreed to sell a portion of his land to Zuckerberg. He then offered his entire property for $4.3 million and was further reduced to $1.7 million with a condition that Zuckerberg would introduce him to high-net worth individuals in the Silicon Valley. The property developed by Voskerician has a direct view into Zuckerberg’s house, including his master bedroom.

A declaration by Voskerician’s real estate agent John Forsyth James mentioned that Zuckerberg would refer the developer to clients of Facebook and influential people. Zuckerberg lawyer Patrick Gunn stated that the lawsuit had no merit and his client sought to defend them vigorously. He added that it was an effort to “embarrass” Zuckerberg and to pressure those around him. Zuckerberg has not commented on the matter.

Voskerician’s lawyers claimed that real estate agent Kerwin had called Voskerican a kid. Zuckerberg’s wife Priswrote that it was stuff like this that made her sad and angry. The Chief executive had acquired three homes surrounding his house for privacy, which is located 10 minutes away from the Facebook headquarters in Menlo Park.
