Rock of Ages Properties Limited, a member of (CHICASON) Group has started the construction of 10,000 housing units at Lugbe south in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Chairman of the CHICASON Group, Mr. Chika Okafor, who disclosed this to journalists, said the houses were for civil servants and other interested individuals, adding that before the end of year, about 3000 houses would be ready for occupation.
Okafor, who said his company had built an enviable reputation over the years, assured all subscribers of timely delivery of the houses before the second quarter of next year.
He further stated that out of the 10,000 housing units in the first cluster, the company had commenced with the construction of 3000 houses for now, adding that the Trade Union Congress (TUC) is one of its major subscribers.
Executive director, CHICASON Group, Adike Chux, disclosed that the TUC, Federal Mortgage Bank, Nigeria Mortgage Refinance Company Plc, Trusts Bond Mortgage Bank and some other banks were collaborating in the project.
He also hinted that the Nigeria Customs and ECOWAS were not left out.
“CHICASON is working with Development Control of the FCDA to avoid the use of substandard materials. The project is bigger than that of Gwarinpa and in the next six months, work on site would have progressed far beyond recognition,” he added.
