First Empire calls on govt to ease land acquisition

The First Empire Group has highlighted the need for the government to enhance the process of acquiring land in order to bridge the over 17 million housing deficit in the country.

The Head of Energy, First Empire Group, Mr. Dimeji Oganla, stated this in Lagos, while announcing the company’s new housing project tagged: ‘The Empire Homes’.

He said the government should partner with real estate development companies to develop housing schemes in the country.

Oganla said, “The government should put in place regulations that will soften the process of acquiring land or partner with developers so as to alleviate the sufferings of the people vis-a-vis housing and accommodation.

“If the government is serious about it, I think the first step is to partner with various private companies to develop those housing schemes and take off the pressure the people are going through in terms of housing. I think the government of President Muhammadu Buhari is so keen on alleviating the sufferings of the masses.”

On the company’s current project, he said the first phase of the Empire Homes initiative was named the ‘Alan Empire Palms Apartments’, located at Isheri Magodo, Lagos State.

Oganla stated, “It is 20 units of luxury flats and 20 units of terraces duplexes with several facilities. It is called the Alan Empire Palms Apartments because of the presence of about 22 palm trees, which have been nurtured for over 20 years.

“We are passionate about the Alan Empire Palms Apartments, we are passionate about delivering value to the people, and we are passionate about our internal resolve to make our competitors inactive.”

He said the company had brought in expatriates from Italy under the leadership of Mr. Alberto Fatuzzo, a builder and engineer with deep knowledge about the way things worked in Nigeria and Africa as a whole, for the development of the project.
