The Nkpolu Rumigbo eastwest road in Port Harcourt, Rivers state capital has reportedly been taken over by flood. The flood made the road almost impossible for both pedestrians and motorists who had to queue up to pass through.

Meanwhile, newsmen reported that the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA) had called on states to prepare for more flooding due to constant heavy rainfall.

This was revealed by the NIHSA’s director general, Clement Nze, on Wednesday, August 7, in Abuja. Nse said more floods should be expected following the high rate of constant rainfall in the country. He revealed that river flooding will begin in September 2019 due to the increase in water from River Niger and Benue.

Even more, NIHSA’s boss said there is a strong chance that more states will experience more river and urban flooding in the nearest future.
