Governor Ganduje to Complete Hospitals with N4bn

New Telegraph reports that Kano State Government has spoken of plans to complete and equip two General Hospitals at Ginginyu and Zoo Road in Kano at the cost of over N4 billion, which had been abandoned for the past 16 years.

New Telegraph reports that according to Governor Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, his administration would emback on the hospital project to boost health development of the state.

The governor, who spoke while receiving the House of Representatives Committee on Health at the Government House yesterday, noted that his administration was determined to improve the healthcare delivery in the state.

He said: “This is why regardless of political party affiliations we are completing the two giant hospitals that have over 500 beds.

The construction of the two hospitals was flagged off by the ANPP government, led by Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau with the hope of boosting children healthcare delivery and maternal health, but which could not be completed.

The projects were also neglected for what many considered political reasons by my successor, Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.”

However, Ganduje assured the House of Representatives Committee of his administration’s deep commitment to not only complete the hospitals before his second year anniversary in office, but also ensure that they are fully equipped with the state-of-the- art equipment that will ultimately put a stop to foreign medical trips.

Also, New Telegraph reports that Ganduje further noted that he had since signed into law the state’s contributory Health Scheme that was initiated by his administration to allow civil servants in the state enjoy almost free medical services with their families.
