Kano: Properties worth N167m razed by fire, 19 lives lost

Kano state fire service has disclosed that 19 persons lost their lives in different fire outbreaks across the state last month.
The spokesman of the service, Alhaji Saidu Mohammed who revealed this to the media said properties worth over N167m were also consumed in the same fire outbreaks.

He said 43 fire outbreaks were recorded within the month and the service was able to rescue 83 lives and goods worth over N286 million from the inferno.

The PRO attributed the fire outbreaks to poor handling of electrical appliances and cooking gas in the affected places.

He, therefore, advised the public to exercise more caution in handling combustible items such as cooking gas and petroleum in their households and business premises.
