Represented by his deputy, Mannir Yakubu, he said government’s intention is to promote dry season farming in the state, The Guardian reports.

According to him, government has made efforts to make agriculture attractive by developing a mechanised system, through the provision of tractors, power tillers and drip irrigation kits.He said: “The summit would address multi-dimensional challenges facing the north and the country in general. We are therefore calling on the participants to come up with a robust and unified position on any national dialogue in respect of the recurring question of national development.

“The restoration agenda of the state is the improvement of foundation education, such as primary and secondary education. We have embarked on massive renovation and expansion of schools across the state.
