Kebbi gives priority to local contractors

Kebbi State Government has promised to continue to give priority to local contractors in the award of road contracts because of the quality of the jobs they have been executing.

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu disclosed this while inaugurating some road projects in Kalgo area of the state.

He said the way the local contractors handled and executed road projects awarded to them in the state has shown that they could be trusted.

The Governor said the two-kilometer road was constructed by an indigenous construction company, Zuru Building Construction Company( ZBCC) Nig. Ltd.

He commended the contractor ZBBC for delivering the project at the stipulated time and according to specification.

The governor said the road would enhance free flow of goods to Kalgo market.

“Kalgo is a town with international standard market where people from neighbouring countries like Niger and Benin Republic often come to trade. The construction of the town road is important for easy transportation of farm produce and other businesses”, he said.

Earlier, the Managing Director of ZBCC, Alhaji Hussein Adamu thanked the governor for supporting indigenous construction companies in the state.

He assured him of quality jobs within time frame whenever road contracts are given to the company.
