The Ogun State Government has begun the construction of Magboro road in Obafemi/Owode Local Government area of the state.

The 7.5-kilometre road, which links Magboro underpass along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway with the residential areas, according to a statement from the Information Unit of the state Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, has never been asphalted.
Speaking on the development, the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Olamilekan Adegbite, said the road would be constructed into a dual carriage way with sidewalk, median, greenbelt area and street lights.
“Magboro is one of the border towns where the state government hopes to make its impact by providing good roads for the people of the area,” he said.
The commissioner said a minor demolition exercise had taken place to remove structures that fell on the road’s right of way.
He said the contractor handling the road had started the construction of drainages and culverts, which were expected to be completed before the onset of the rains, after which the road construction proper would begin.
Adegbite said the Governor Ibikunle Amosun led government planned to construct the Magboro underpass and all road networks under the bridge as well as those within the Journalists’ Estate, Arepo.
The commissioner also said the Magboro road would be delivered before the end of the year.
