The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has started emergency repairs on 194 failed portions on major roads across Niger Delta with 64 located in Rivers State.
Vanguard notes that, the Acting Managing Director of the commission, Mrs Ibim Semenitari, who disclosed this to newsmen, said it was part of efforts by the commission to reduce the sufferings of commuters and travellers on these roads.
A statement by the Head Corporate Affairs of the Commission, Mr Chijioke Amu-Nnadi, said a breakdown of the roads from the commission’s Directorate of Utility, Infrastructural Development and Waterways, indicated that 18 of the spots are in Abia, 32 in Akwa Ibom, 14 in Bayelsa and four in Cross River states.
The others are 26 in Delta, eight in Edo, six in Ondo and 64 in Rivers State, Vanguard reports.
