The Federal Government said it would fight corruption and ensure elimination of waste in the execution of Sustainable Development Goals, SDG, projects across the country.
The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, stated this in Abuja yesterday, while declaring open a 3-day SDGs Task Team Implementation meeting.
According to Vanguard, the Minister said: “The current economic realities of Nigeria demands judicious use of available funds and more commitment in SDGs project execution.
‘Open initiative system of monitoring public expenditure on projects and programmes will be applied to the SDGs Goals”.
He said that under the change mantra of the administration, all efforts would be made to ensure value for money.
“We will therefore make every effort to ensure value for money,eliminate waste and fight corruption in project execution in the education sector,the ministry is set to review contracts that were not effectively carried out and insist on proper execution,” he said.
