The Lagos State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mr. Wasiu Anifowoshe, has said that the relocation of the Oko-baba saw millers to Agbowa-Ikosi area of the state from the current location in Ebute Meta will be accomplished in the first quarter of this year.
Anifowoshe stated this during a tour of the site of the new sawmill, which include sales offices, band saw sheds, shoreline protection, log preparation area, restaurant, meeting hall and housing units; and asked the contractor handling the project to expedite action so as to meet the deadline.
“The governor is interested in the early completion of the Agbowa-Ikosi site so that the saw millers could relocate to a more conducive environment for their economic activities without further delay, and the scheduled movement to the new site is within the first quarter of this year,” he said.
