Oseni Ibrahim Ola, a resident of Oke-Ogun in Oyo state, has lamented the deplorable conditions of Oyo-Iseyin and Iseyin-Ibadan roads. The resident, while registering his frustration, urged Governor Seyi Makinde-led government to as a matter of urgency do something about the roads which he said are daily plied by commuters.
Ola, in a statement made available to Legit.ng, argued that despite the fact that Oke-ogun accommodates one-third of local government in Oyo state, it could not be easily reached from the state capital Ibadan.
“Oke-Ogun as popularly known for enormous food production and abundant raw materials for the state and Nigeria at large is largely suffering from avoidable deplorable state of roads,” he said.
He consequently urged Nigerian government to treat road infrastructure as a priority to enhance economic development and security life and property.
“What is more traumatic than travelling through the roads, especially, during the rainy season? Vehicles break down; heavy-duty trucks overturn or get stuck in the mud. Motorists disembark at such horrible spots to push crippled vehicles. Ola also called on Governor Seyi Makinde to come to the aide of the people of Oke Ogun
“Governor Seyi Makinde should also please beam his humanitarian searchlight on the road. The governor should please come to our aids by doing the needful. It must be emphasized that the road requires complete rehabilitation, not potholes patches,” he said.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state, on Monday, June 24, presented the certificate of Occupancy (C of O) for the construction of a new retail outlet of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) within two days of application
