Oyo state: Faceless contractor got N7b road project – Makinde laments

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo has alleged that the last administration in the state awarded a contract to a contractor with untraceable office address to the Moniya-Iseyin road for the sum of N7billion.

The governor who disclosed this after taking a tour of the Moniya-Iseyin road said N2 billion out of the total contract sum was paid to the ‘faceless’ contractor.

Nigerian Peace Corps Bill Going further, Makinde noted that his assessment of the job done so far on the site would barely pass for N150 million.

“My impression of the work done so far if I will have to evaluate and cost it, it couldn’t have been more than N150 million that I will spend on it. “It was a faceless contractor and we don’t even know where their offices are located. I could have stopped by to go and discuss with them, but there is nowhere to stop by,” Makinde said.

Recall that Legit.ng had reported that Oseni Ibrahim Ola, a resident of Oke Ogun in Oyo state lamented the deplorable conditions of Oyo-Iseyin and Iseyin-Ibadan roads.

The resident argued that despite the fact that Oke-Ogun accommodates one-third of local government in Oyo state, it could not be easily reached from the state capital Ibadan.
