Resident raises alarm over dangerous state of popular bridge in Rivers

A concerned Nigerian, Joseph Chihosim Alaba, has raised alarm over the dilapidated state of Akpajo bridge.

Alaba who disclosed this on his Twitter handle on Wednesday, July 10, urged the state government to come to the aide of the people in the axis before something terrible happens.

It was reported that a mere glance at the images of the bridge underscored the terrible condition of the Rivers state infrastructure.

Meanwhile, a Rivers House of Assembly member, Dumle Maol, has expressed surprise over illegal oil bunkering and piracy in spite of the presence of security operatives in Rivers coasts. T

The lawmaker urged the security agencies to do more by beaming their searchlight on Degema LGA of the state, particularly the Bille axis so as to put an end to illegal oil bunkering and sea piracy.

Maol, representing Gokana constituency and chairman, ad hoc committee on “Bille passenger boats attack” expressed the surprise in an interview with the newsmen on Wednesday, July 10, in Port Harcourt.

He said that as part of efforts to step up security and check illegal oil bunkering in the oil-rich Bille Kingdom, Degema LGA, the house had constituted an ad hoc committee in that regard.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that after public outcry over deplorable state of roads in Mgbee, Akokwa and Ogboko communities in Imo state, Governor Emeka Ihedioha visited residents in the area.

The governor’s visit followed a report by newsmen over the poor construction of a road leading to the communities by the previous administration.
