The Sack Your Landlord Essay Competition is an annual event sponsored by Realty Point Limited, one of Nigeria’s top Real Estate Development Companies. The competition is aimed at highlighting the plights and good memories of Tenants with their Landlords, in order to inspire current or prospective tenants to aspire to become landlords of their own, and to make landlords more conscious of their attitude to their tenants. This is in line with the company’s mission to help everyone get a roof over their head, regardless of their income bracket.

The Competition

The competition involves contestants sending in a short story about their best or worst experience with their landlords. These essays are then marked by in-house judges who eventually select the best Ten or Fifteen (as the case may be), and subject them to public voting both on social media and on the website. The three entries with the highest total points emerge eventual winners.

Speaking at the award giving ceremony, Mr. Dapo Ojo, (Manager, Marketing and Estate Management – Realty Point Limited) said that “It’s good to see young people winning this award. It shows that people are getting conscious of real estate needs early in life and they can adequately plan towards it; either to invest or to start making a profitable business of it”

The winners appreciated Realty Point Limited for the awards, and for giving them the opportunity to use their experiences to a profitable advantage.
