You reside in America and think your property tax rates are high? It’s all relative.

To try and give you a sense of the property tax rates overall, the Tax Foundation calculated the average amount of residential property tax actually paid, expressed as a percentage of home value. That should produce a more even result since it factors in the cost of living in different geographic areas. Their calculations are also based on owner-occupied properties and don’t include rentals or corporate properties, in an attempt to compare apples to apples.
