Virtuous Women repaint old people’s home

New Telegraph reports that thirty-one Virtuous Women of Rosy Ladies Club International have repainted an old building belonging to the Holy Family Home for the Elderly at the Regina Mundi Catholic Church, Mushin in Lagos State.

Every corner of the building was re-painted with colourful solid paint after which the property was commissioned to mark the Tenth Anniversary of the club.

According to New Telegraph, the President, Rosy Ladies Club International, Mrs. Chioma Okpalagu said, “Old People Home was part of our project.

So,when we came here the authority in charge of the home said the house was not good looking.

“We re-painted every corner of the building with a solid paint because they are old; inhabitants of the home need a colourful house around them.

Hence, we came as members of the club to commission it.” Mrs. Okpalaku, a Microbiologist, who founded the Virtuous Women of Rosy Ladies Club International ten years ago, said they started with ten women with soft contributions to help one another in business.

When asked what has sustained the group, she said, “we are virtuous women, good wives and we are like sisters and all the executives are committed.”

According to her, “We tasked ourselves to generate funds, our patrons support us in every of our projects.

We hand pick people that have the intention of moving the club forward. The patroness, Mrs. Mariam Williams (JP) said, “we are there to support them anytime they carry out any project.

The money they realise from the launching was plunged into the project to repaint old the peoples home.

“They will not only re-painted, they will build home for the old people. These are young Catholic ladies that are highly spiritual, hence, they make people happy.”

The Rev. Sister Anthonia Adebowale said, “I am overwhelmed with their generosity, thoughtfulness and love too.

Other members of the club that were present during the commissioning include Sir Chux Amamgbo,(Patron) Mrs. Mary Jane Isiuwe, Mrs. Anuli Oguji (treasurer), Ngozi Ubaka (Vice president) and Evelyn Ogunremi (Welfare), New Telegraph reports.
